KADUN craftsmen used rare natural materials in the manufacture of the Naples chess set: mammoth tusk, Colchian boxwood and silver.
The pedestals of the figures are made of Colchian boxwood. This is a valuable type of wood, the pattern of which resembles ivory. The pedestals of the dark figures are covered with tinting.
The silhouettes of the figures are made of mammoth tusk, a material with a history dating back thousands of years. The rings on the pedestals are made of silver.
The chess pieces have an original design - there are busts on the pedestal that embody certain characters of the party.
Each figure is the finest elaboration of details, filigree carving of lace, faces and clothing elements. The crowns of monarchs are distinguished among all the figures of majestic kings and queens. The elephants are complemented by the mitres of bishops. Pawns are formidable warriors.
To maintain a stable position on the board, metal weights are installed at the base of each figure, and for smooth movement, the bases of the figures are glued with felt.
The body of the chessboard is made in the form of a casket, with the lid opening up. To keep it in an upright position, loops with a limiter are installed on the board. Inside the casket there are cells for storing figures, decorated with soft velvet. The kit includes a briefcase.
