Wooden carved chess set "Fairy Tale" on an oak board

The "Fairy Tale" set is a rare example of carved chess, appealing not only to aesthetic taste, but also to cultural memory. In each character, from the gray—haired wizard to the hut on chicken legs, images of the Russian fairy—tale tradition come to life, which have become allegories of strategic confrontation. The set consists of figures made of an array of two rocks: acacia — for the light side, black walnut — for the dark side. The massive size gives each figure weight, but the figures are not additionally weighted, allowing you to maintain tactile lightness.
