"Notes on the fish's bite" is one of the first works by the Russian writer S.T. Aksakov, in which the poetic description of native nature, the immediacy and expressiveness of spoken speech are combined with the factual reliability of the presentation, the desire for accuracy of description, as well as with the amazing ability to recreate the living world of fish, depict their habits, morals, biting, narrate about the peculiarities of fishing for one or another individual.
The book was the first part of S.T. Aksakov's "hunting" trilogy, released anonymously, in the introduction the author signed himself as S.A. and dedicated it to "My brothers and friends N.T. and A.T. A.M.".
