Afanasy Ivanovich Stoykovich is one of the founders of Kharkiv University. Born in Serbia, he received a brilliant education in Austria-Hungary. Since the opening of the University in Kharkiv, Stojkovic has been interested in theoretical and experimental physics, meteorology and astronomy. According to contemporaries, he was "resourceful, flexible, brave, decisive and impatient."
In addition to a large number of scientific works, as an experienced and vital person, he conceived the idea of publishing an encyclopedia of household management, which he began publishing in 1829. No further volumes were published due to the author's death. The collected information is one of the first examples of structured information about nutrition and household, contains a lot of unique details collected by an attentive and extremely talented person.
This edition is practically not found on sale and is an exceptional rarity.
