Markov Evgeny Lvovich [26.9 (8.10) 1835] — [17 (30).3.1903] Evgeny Lvovich Markov, a descendant of one of the three noble Markov families dating back to the beginning of the XVII century, was born and grew up in the patrimonial estate of Patebnik Shchigrovsky district of Kursk province. On his mother's side, he was the grandson of Suvorov General Gan, was a close relative of the writers E.A. Gan, E.P. Blavatsky, V.P. Zhelikhovskaya and the publicist R.A. Fadeev. Markov's numerous travels were reflected in vividly written travel notes, readers appreciated the travel essays written by Evgeny Markov under the impression of trips to Russia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Italy, Turkey, Greece, the Archipelago, Egypt, Palestine.
