Leather-bound gift book "In the Jungle of Africa"
Gorodetsky Vladislav Vladislavovich was born in 1863 in the village of Sholudki (Podolsk province), in a noble family. He successfully graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1890. Since 1889 he worked in Kiev. He lived and had a workshop on Nikolaevskaya Street. Since 1995, the street has been renamed architect Gorodetsky. Since 1903 he lived in the "House with chimeras" built by him on Bankovaya Street. Gorodetsky presented the city with such objects as the St. Nicholas Church, the National Art Museum, and the Karaite Kenasa. He also built a theater, a palace and a hotel in Tehran according to his own designs.On January 1, 1930, Gorodetsky died in Tehran after a heart attack. He was buried there too.
