The author's oil painting "Ballerina in the dressing room" is an exquisite canvas filled with a languid atmosphere of backstage silence, a moment before going on stage. The artist conveyed not just the figure of a young dancer sitting in an armchair, but the whole world of her feelings: intense expectation, inner concentration, femininity in anticipation of the footlights. The heroine's gaze is lowered, she carefully ties the ribbons of pointe shoes, her bare shoulders and the graceful line of her neck are emphasized by the soft light from candles in the mirror. A voluminous multi-layered dress, executed with special attention to the movement of the fabric and the play of light, as if breathing the air of a room saturated with shadows, strokes of purple, turquoise and amber. An armchair, a mirror on a tripod, the reflections of the fire and the muted luxury of the interior create the depth of the stage and enhance the theatrical magic of the moment. The whole composition is written in thick but light strokes, conveying the tremor of light and the inner music of silence. The work is enclosed in a laconic wooden frame in the color of light oak — neutral and noble.
Alexander Viktorovich Fomin, a gallery owner and artist, deeply appreciates impressionism and demonstrates his love for this style in stunning paintings. His works reflect the essence of light and color in nature, as well as the emotions and beauty of everyday moments.
The artist was born in Moscow. Alexander Fomin took his first lessons from his older brother. The novice painter was 22 years old when he first picked up a brush. Revolving in the circle of artists and selling paintings by his older brother, Alexander takes up the brush, watching as canvases are born. He studied literally "over his shoulder", closely following his brother's work.
Feeling that he can embody his impressions and ideas on canvas, Alexander makes the first strokes. Hard work and diligence paid off: in 1992, he was invited to an exhibition in West Germany. This was an important event and an incentive to choose the profession of an impressionist painter.
The artist's favorite themes are urban landscapes, retrospectives of old streets of Paris, Moscow and German cities. Today, Alexander's works are in private collections and museums, including in the city of Emmerich (West Germany), as well as in the estate of the Leontiev nobles (descendants of Generalissimo Suvorov) and other top officials of countries and states.
The painting is intended for those whose perception of art goes beyond the limits of pictorial aesthetics and penetrates into emotional depths. For collectors who feel the threads between painting and theater, between the light of candles and the inner light of the soul. For those who are looking for not just a thing in their space, but silence, movement, premonition.
