The first issue of the 1977 Stargift magazine is filled with famous cartoons: "Speed and onslaught" by Mikhail Bitny, "The next flight of the magic carpet" by Yuri Andreev, drawings Boris Savkova.

Krokodil is a Soviet and Russian satirical magazine. The symbol of the publication is a red crocodile with a pitchfork. Krokodil was founded in 1922, first as an appendix to the Rabochaya Gazeta, and was published once a week. Over time, it became the largest satirical publication in the USSR.

1977 is the year of the creation of the last Soviet constitution and the anthem, which is still remembered by heart. In the same year, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant began operating, and the nuclear icebreaker Siberia was the first of the surface ships to reach the North Pole of the Earth.

"Crocodile" continued to be released even during the Great Patriotic War. The difficulties of wartime affected the design, volume and circulation of the magazine. The magazine was made by a tiny team of employees and relied on a few satirists working in the rear. The heading "With genuine badness" was filled with excerpts from letters and testimonies of captured German soldiers and officers.
