"Beverly Hills 90210" is an American youth television series about the Walsh twins who find themselves in the world of golden youth in the Los Angeles area of Beverly Hills, one of the 5 zip codes of which is 90210.
Interestingly, the creator of the show, Darren Star, was not going to make a series about Beverly Hills at all. The scene was supposed to be the town of Potomac, Maryland, since the screenwriter hails from this city. At one time, the series even had the working title "Potomac 20854", but then they decided to choose a more famous place as the main location.
Most of the actors who played the roles of schoolchildren turned out to be much older than their screen age. For example, when Ian Ziering auditioned for the role of Steve Sanders, he hid his real age in order to land the role. And this is not surprising, because according to the plot, Steve was only 16 years old, while the actor was already 28 at that time.
