Viktor Koretsky is a Soviet graphic artist. Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He is mainly known as an outstanding poster artist. During his life, he created about seven hundred sheets on various topics.

The poster did not immediately gain recognition in the artistic environment: in the era of the formation of mass communications, leaflets performed primarily a utilitarian function. They instantly conveyed new slogans and directives to a wide audience. However, the Russian avant-gardists, who treated life-building as an art, brought an aesthetic component to the poster. A new system — a new culture: many prominent masters, from Alexander Rodchenko to El Lisitsky, were engaged in creativity at the junction with agitation.

Posters of the mid-1950s agitated for competitiveness in work, strongly emphasized the importance of moral incentives to work. Like posters from the Great Patriotic War, these creations are concise and expressive: the masters often preferred monochrome or used a minimum of color.
