A set of postcards with 3 autographs of Soviet Olympic biathlon champions

The postcards were signed in 1995 at the Olympic ball held in the Kremlin. The event was timed to coincide with the end of the XVII Winter Olympic Games, held in Lillehammer (Norway).

Alexander Tikhonov is a Soviet biathlete. Four-time Olympic champion, eleven-time world champion, fifteen-time USSR champion, USSR Spartakiad champion, USSR Cup winner 1978. President (1996-2008), Vice-President (2008-2010) of the Russian Biathlon Union. First Vice-President of the International Biathlon Union (2002-2009).

Nikolai Kruglov is a Soviet biathlete, two—time Olympic champion (1976), three-time world champion (1974, 1975, 1977).

Vladimir Gundartsev is a Soviet biathlete, Olympic relay champion (1968).

The XVII Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer proved to be very successful both organizationally and athletically. The games touched upon important issues of environmental cleanliness, peaceful coexistence and culture, and the spirit of mutual understanding and goodwill prevailed in Lillehammer. Thanks to this, IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch, at the closing ceremony of the Games, rated this Olympics as the most successful in the history of the Winter Olympic Games.
