A book with a handwritten address and autograph by the actor of the USSR Vasily Lanov

Vasily Lanovoy is a legendary Soviet theater and film actor, famous for his role as Captain Gray in Scarlet Sails and Alexei Vronsky in Anna Karenina. He is known as a connoisseur of poetry, an outstanding reader and theater actor. During his career, Lanovoy starred in more than 100 films, mostly detective stories and historical dramas. "Slava, it's good that
We got to know each other.
You. Lanovoy"

Interestingly, even in his youth Lanovoy dreamed of playing D'Artagnan, Hamlet and Chatsky. However, Sergei Zhigunov's proposed role of Cardinal Richelieu in the movie "The Three Musketeers" also appealed to the actor and attracted the duke's political position. "The personality is strong, unlike anyone else. His Eminence is a statesman," the actor says. "For him, the main thing is the greatness of the country. And the intrigues… Well, yes, it does. But for what — for the sake of power!"
