The text of the handwritten inscription:
"To G. M. Rakhlin
at the meeting
October 21, 1958
Leningrad
Anna Akhmatova"

The exhibit is accompanied by a photograph of the late 1950s and early 1960s by G. M. Rakhlin visiting Anna Akhmatova.

Russian Russian poet of the Silver Age, translator and literary critic Anna Akhmatova is one of the most significant figures of Russian literature of the 20th century. She was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Gidali Rakhlin is a well—known book lover and director of several literary shops in Leningrad. In 1949, he was arrested in the "Leningrad case" and spent several years in camps, where his fate intersected with Nikolai Punin. After rehabilitation, Rakhlin returned to Leningrad, where he again studied books and became the director of a Poetry Store on Soyuz Pechatnikov Street.

The Rosary is one of the most significant works in the work of Anna Akhmatova and one of the key publications of the Silver Age era. Akhmatova's second poetry collection, it was published during a turbulent time of historical change, on the eve of the Civil War. The book covers the period of her work from 1913-1914 and includes poems filled with subtle lyrics, themes of love, separation, memories and the search for spiritual harmony. The texts from the Rosary have entered the literary canon, and some of the poems have become a vivid expression of the feelings and experiences of the Silver Age generation. The collection also marks Akhmatova's transition to a more mature style, combining personal and universal motifs.
