Nikolai Rubakin is a Russian bibliographer, book scholar, science popularizer and writer. Having acted as a public figure, he greatly contributed to the education of the working population of Russia, wrote and published a large number of popular books on various issues of natural science, journalistic writings, historical and adventure novels. He developed the theory of self-education and compiled one of the first systematic manuals on publishing and librarianship in Russia. Once in exile, he did not leave his former studies, but bequeathed the large library he had collected during the emigration years. Soviet Russia.
