Daniil Medvedev is a Russian tennis player, former world number one in singles. Winner of one Grand Slam tournament, finalist of three Grand Slam singles tournaments, winner of the Final ATP Tournament in 2020, finalist of the Final ATP Tournament in 2021.

Daniil Medvedev has eight titles won at the tournaments of the Association of Professional Tennis Players. However, his main goal was to win the Grand Slam tournament. In 2019, Medvedev was close to this and reached the final, but lost to Rafael Nadal at the game in New York. He won the tournament only on his third attempt in 2021.

Daniil became famous among fans not only because of his outstanding results, but also because of his emotional behavior on the court. So, in moments of high tension, Medvedev broke rackets more than once, was once fined for unsportsmanlike behavior, and in 2017 threw several coins in the direction of the referee, expressing his disagreement with the refereeing. Despite this, the fans fully support the athlete and note that such outbursts only make the game more emotional and exciting.

A wealthy person could afford to order a personal binding, in which, as a rule, he collected interesting fragments of books and blank sheets, which we see in this copy. Luck and rarity is the exact indication of the notebook's ownership. In this case, the owner's entry is made on the pages of the text: "From the books of the Kursk Bogoroditsky Znamensky Monastery of Father Archimandrite Lawrence Kordet." Fragments of various scientific books of astronomical content are woven into the copy, and the owner's records contain information about church laws, state and economic management and are written in different handwriting in Russian, Latin and French. Most of the records were made by Vladyka Lawrence, and after his death, his personal library, along with a notebook, most likely passed to the next abbot, and he continued writing. Archimandrite Lawrence was an outstanding church speaker. Among the papers left after his death were several volumes of handwritten sermons, between them two volumes of words and teachings compiled by students when he was rector of the Kharkov Collegium (proto-seminary). As a very educated man for his time and interested in secular literature, Archimandrite Lawrence took a lively part in the work on compiling a geographical dictionary undertaken by the Free Russian Assembly at the Imperial Moscow University; for his works he was elected a member of the Free Economic Society.

An exceptionally rare edition of the master's thesis of one of the first Russian scientists in the field of radioactive elements with the autograph of physicochemist academician Peter Alexandrovich Rebinder. Rebinder was one of the founders of modern colloidal chemistry. The ways of its development were largely determined by his ideas and discoveries. Many of his ideas have stood the test of time and are successfully developing in many scientific centers around the world. The scientific achievements of the scientist were adequately appreciated by his contemporaries and enjoyed well-deserved authority among the foreign scientific community. Pyotr Alexandrovich opened a new scientific direction - physico-chemical mechanics. In 1928, there was a real discovery called the Ribinder effect. Since then, deformation and destruction of solids have been considered not as mechanical, but as physico-chemical processes. In 1935, the scientist created the largest scientific center - the Department of Dispersed Systems at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Rebinder's approach to science has made it possible to radically change and improve many different technologies. The fact that colloidal chemistry occupies an important place in the curricula of many technological, agricultural, medical universities and academies is a direct merit of Rebinder. The book "Products of uranium disintegration" was written by Georgy Nikolaevich Antonov. In 1908-1911, he was listed as an employee of Ernest Rutherford's laboratory in Manchester, where he emigrated after the revolution, fearing persecution. He studied surface tension and formulated a rule according to which the surface tension of liquids changes at the interface of two phases (Antonov's Rule, 1906). In the 1910s, he continued his studies at Cambridge under Professor D. Nicholson. He was a professor of chemistry at the Mining Institute in Yekaterinburg in 1916, and since 1918 worked in private laboratories in London. Antonov is one of the pioneers of the study of radioactivity in Russia, which he began working for Rutherford and continued upon his return to his homeland. He was engaged in the chemical identification of uranium decay products. In 1920, he received a doctorate in natural Sciences from the University of Manchester, and later worked in France and the USA.
