Kevin Costner is an American actor, film director, film producer and musician. Winner of the Golden Globe Awards (1991, 2013) and the Emmy Awards (2012). In 1991, he was awarded two Academy Awards — for Best director and for best film.
After graduating from high school, Costner began studying business at California State University, as it was believed that an acting career was fraught with great risk. However, a few years later, he realized that business had never been his true calling. After all, a chance meeting on a plane with Oscar-winning actor Richard Burton gave Costner the confidence he needed to fulfill his acting dreams. Kostner approached Burton for advice. He chose words that were very important to Costner, as a result of which he finally felt confident that he could make a living as an actor.
