Krist Novoselic is an American musician, best known as the bass guitarist and one of the founders of the cult band Nirvana. Together with Kurt Cobain, he became one of the key figures of the grunge movement of the 1990s, and their album Nevermind revolutionized the world of music, defining the sound of an entire generation. Novoselic's deep and energetic bass lines have become an important part of the band's corporate identity, along with his charismatic stage presence.

During Nirvana's first performance in 1987, Novoselic became so nervous that he played the entire concert with his eyes closed. However, over time, he became not only a confident musician, but also a real showman. One of his signature tricks was throwing a bass guitar into the air and catching it with his head - a spectacular but risky move that more than once ended in painful falls for him.

He performed all 15 of Shostakovich's symphonies, and his Fourth and Thirteenth symphonies were performed for the first time (in 1961 and 1962, respectively).
