Crocodile is a Soviet and Russian satirical magazine. The symbol of the publication is a red crocodile with a pitchfork. Krokodil was founded in 1922, initially as an appendix to Rabochaya Gazeta, and was published once a week.

Crocodile magazine was the most popular and main magazine, which published satirical materials about everyday life. His satire has not lost its relevance in our days. Traditionally, the subject of jokes for the magazine has been sloppiness, drunkenness, laziness, and the negligence of managers and employees. The cartoons of the 1960s surprised with an unusual turn of the subject, an unexpected situation, and a witty signature. For several years, there has been a story about executives who are too "loaded" with all kinds of meetings, replacing their real work with a series of meetings. The witty caricatures about the service culture aroused the approval and delight of caricature connoisseurs and readers of the magazine. The cartoonists came to the attention of the creative intelligentsia, its connoisseurs, and those who earned money from them. Satirical caricaturists also paid attention to amateur art.

The 1977 issue file covers the most significant political and social events in a satirical manner, for example, scientific research, strengthening international cooperation, including the development of military infrastructure in the Arctic.

Personal funds stored in the Glavarchive also testify to the popularity and relevance of the Crocodile in the twentieth century.
