Signed: "A. Schilder 1885"
Andrey Nikolaevich Schilder (1861-1919)
On the Riverbank (1885)
Oil on canvas; 31.7 x 45.5 cm
Andrey Shilder is a 19th—century Russian artist known for his landscapes and genre paintings. A representative of the realistic trend in painting, he masterfully conveyed the atmosphere of nature and urban scenes. His works are distinguished by a subtle sense of light, detail and harmony of composition.
Russian Russian landscape artist Andrey Shilder created this work inspired by the beauty of nature and the quiet harmony of Russian rivers. The work conveys the atmosphere of quiet solitude of a summer day: the viewer seems to find himself in the shade of trees, feeling the freshness of the air and the light sound of water. This work also demonstrates the influence of Ivan Shishkin's school, where attention to detail and shades of green played a key role.
The exhibit is accompanied by an Independent Scientific Research Examination Named After P. M. Tretyakov
