In the Buddhist tradition, a terton is a master who discovers priceless treasures of knowledge. They come to the master through signs calling him to a certain action. And then a part of the teaching or text is revealed to his consciousness, which are then recorded and made available to students.
Each composition stands for one of the sacred Tibetan syllables: "a" (Terton 1), "hum" (Terton 2) and "om" (Terton 3).
The author embodied his vision in the image of a child with a piece of paper on which the letter "a" is written — one of the sacred sounds in the Tibetan tradition of cognition, which symbolizes enlightened speech.
