The author's bronze sculpture "Samurai on horseback"

When we hear the word samurai, we symbolize it not only with a professional warrior who skillfully destroyed any target, but we also remember the samurai code of honor Bushido, and the ease of confronting a person with death…

As a special class, samurai have existed throughout the history of Japan. Initially, they were in the service of aristocratic families, whose roots lay in the ancient Japanese hierarchy of priests. Over the centuries, some samurai clans have replaced others, fighting for the title of shogun, the military ruler of the country.

It is considered that samurai are masters not only of the sword, but also of the brush. Indeed, many samurai from influential families received a good education, were able to write poetry, practiced calligraphy and tea ceremony.

Fearless warriors, skilled with the sword, strong in spirit, not afraid of death, lived by the motto: "Battle brings joy only when you move forward and forward, you advance and win!"
