Bikin's "Peddler" casket, Palekh

""Peddler" Bikin's box, Palekh is a chamber work in the tradition of Russian lacquer miniature, dedicated to a lyrical folk story. The scene of the meeting of a peddler and a girl is revealed on a glossy black background: warm golden glow, green hills, trees and a basket of goods create the mood of a fabulous Russian way of life.

The case of the box has a soft rectangular shape with rounded corners and a thin gold ornament on the lid and sides. The painting looks especially expressive due to the contrast of black lacquer, saturated red, green and ochre shades, and the miniature study of the figures gives the product artistic depth and collectible character.

The interior is covered with a bright red lacquer, creating a beautiful combination with the outer black case and gold decor. The box is suitable for storing jewelry, memorabilia or as an independent accent in the interior; materials and techniques: papier-mache, tempera, lacquer, Palekh painting.
