At first, there was the idea of a noble brave knight rushing to help, and several photographs at the core: These photos from jousting tournaments and a picture of a Russian warrior monk could not be the basis of the drawing, they only gave a certain combination of images to embody the idea, for the first stage - the stage of creating a painting on canvas. And here are the first sketches, almost the final solution in a sketch made in a simple artist's notebook.
And so the sketch is approved, the artist proceeds to a rather difficult task - not just to embody the idea on canvas, but to do the work so that the next specialist in the set of paintings in the marquetry technique (mosaic) could preserve both the color scheme and the emotional perception of what he intended. And it turned out perfectly for Evgenia Bannik, a graduate of the St. Petersburg State University of Fine Arts (Academy of Fine Arts). Repin '18.
And only after the painting was received in this form, the marketing artist Maxim Kulin began to work. We will show you literally step by step how a mosaic of several dozen types of wood was assembled, how not only tones and shades were selected, but also the directions of the fibers were taken into account. In total, 18 species of exotic trees such as cherengeira, Peruvian walnut, lemon tree (movingu), annegri, merbau, eucalyptus, American walnut, merbau, rosewood, teak, makassar, zebrano were involved in the shirt set alone, as professionals call the mosaic sheet (inlay pattern made of wood with a thickness of only 0.6 mm)..
