About this product
Art. : 037-687

"The Master and Margarita" is an immortal, mysterious and witty work by Mikhail Bulgakov — the main novel of his life. "What could I write after "The Master..."?" the author admits to himself shortly before his death. Published in the mid-1960s, "The Master..." amazed readers with its unusual design, colorful and fantastic action, uniting heroes of different eras and cultures. It combines both a religious and historical mystery dating back to the legend of the crucified Christ, and supernatural scenes with characters embodying a certain dark force - woven and shrouded in the Moscow "buffoonery" of the 1920s and 1930s.
In the new anniversary edition, the immortal novel is presented in its last lifetime author's edition (the manuscripts are kept in the manuscript department of the State Library of the USSR named after V. I. Lenin), as well as with corrections and additions made under the dictation of the writer by his wife, Elena Sergeevna Bulgakova. And the unique works of photographers and illustrators reflect the atmosphere of Moscow "Bulgakovskaya", show all readers the materials of the "Museum of M. A. Bulgakov" and rare shots from the personal and creative life of the author.
