German philosopher and cultural critic Oswald Spengler (1880-1936) believed that three great men — Columbus, Copernicus and Pacioli — changed the world. In 1494, in Venice, the Franciscan monk Luca Pacioli (1445-1517) published a monumental book, one of the parts of which was called A Treatise on Accounts and Records. It gives the first description of a double entry in accounting. This edition has been supplemented with notes and materials by Ya.Sokolova and L.Kosareva, which give a modern understanding of the role of Pacioli's discovery (notes are indented).
In the design of the binding, a combination of pancake and gold embossing is used, made on high-quality genuine leather. The design is complemented by a cut-off painted to match the binding material. Lasse. Dubs.
