Leather-bound gift book "Journey to Muscovy" in three volumes
`Journey to Muscovy, 1664-1665" is a diary entry by a young Dutch traveler (later a prominent scientist and statesman) Nicolaas Witsen (1641-1717), who visited Russia as part of the Embassy of the Dutch Republic to Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. This most interesting document of the era, containing a wealth of factual material, was published in Old Dutch only in 1966; it is being published in Russian for the first time. The publication is accompanied by drawings by N. Witsen, made during the trip, and engravings from his drawings. The book is addressed to both historians and anyone interested in Russian history.
