The album is a unique edition, including both archival illustrations published at the beginning of the XIX century and never published, created by participants of the first circumnavigation of the Russians on the ships Nadezhda and Neva under the command of I.F.Kruzenshtern and Yu.F.Lisyansky. The book contains an illustrated chronicle of the events of the expedition that went "around the world" in 1803-1806. All engravings and drawings are provided with excerpts from the reports and diaries of the expedition participants, explaining and complementing the pictorial series.
The publication is designed as a scientific one, but is intended for a wide range of readers interested in the maritime history of Russia.
