The first book, as it should be, is autobiographical. The author tells about his difficult childhood as a peasant boy, who was given to "people" at the age of eleven, about serving in the tsarist army and participating in the First World War. About how, with weapons in his hands, among millions of the same workers and peasant guys, he defended the Soviet government in the ranks of the newly created Red Army. About how the Great October Socialist Revolution opened up new opportunities for millions of ordinary workers and led them on the broad path of a new life. The second book is devoted to the Great Patriotic War, its experience, its difficulties and the brilliant victories of the Soviet Armed Forces, who carried out the great mission of liberating humanity from the fascist yoke. The author tells about the battle for Moscow, Leningrad, and the Battle of Stalingrad, which was the beginning of a radical turning point in the Great Patriotic War. The author highlights the activities of the Headquarters of the Supreme High Command, its leadership of military operations. He does not ignore the miscalculations in its activities, the reasons for our failures on the fronts. In the third book, the author tells how the Soviet military art grew, how resolutely and purposefully the military actions of the fronts were planned, the necessary superiority in forces and means was created in the main directions, effective forms of conducting offensive operations were used. Of particular interest are the chapters devoted to the defeat of fascist troops on the Kursk Bulge, the liberation of Belarus and Ukraine and the final battle of the Great Patriotic War - the Berlin operation. In this book, as in other memoirs of major Soviet military leaders, the reader will find answers to many questions of interest to him.
