The album is dedicated to the unique collection of the Tretyakov Gallery, whose history began when the Moscow merchant Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov acquired the first paintings by Russian artists for his collection, aiming to create the first publicly accessible museum of Russian art in Russia.
