Each of us would like to walk through the halls of the ideal art gallery, where the most outstanding works of Western European art are exhibited. Imagine that the masterpieces of the most famous masters of all time are magically collected in one single place. "A museum takes a work of art from the world of everyday life and forces it to interact or argue with other works. This is a clash of metamorphoses," Andre Malraux said in his collection of essays "The Museum of Museums" (1935-1951). Inspired by the words of the great French intellectual, this book offers the reader a tour of an imaginary museum where works of art are collected, in reality separated by thousands of kilometers.
