We bring to the attention of readers a number of studies on the history of the military fleet of the Russian Empire, which were written at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries by leading experts in this field. First of all, we are talking about the "brief history of the Russian fleet" - the fundamental work of F.F. Veselago. This work was published more than once in the USSR and in modern Russia, but only in the 1939 edition, which was greatly abridged. This book contains the full text of this two-volume edition, which was published in 1893 and 1895.
Russian Russian Navy. It also contains fragments of the book "Do we Need a fleet and its importance in the history of Russia" by P.I. Belaventz and four readings "On the Russo-Japanese War at Sea" by N.N. Beklemishev, read at meetings of the military and naval departments of the Imperial Russian Technical Society in October 1906.
The selected works are illustrated with rare maps, documents, engravings and photos that convey the atmosphere of the described period.
