The author's oil painting "President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin" is a chamber work designed in the best traditions of a ceremonial portrait. The composition is designed with monumental restraint: the figure of the head of state is depicted full—face, in an armchair with gilded carvings and velvet upholstery, crowned with a double-headed eagle, a symbol of power and continuity of historical statehood. The gaze is directed directly at the viewer, expressing concentration, inner strength and confident calmness. A slight gesture of the right hand resting on the chin creates the image of a thoughtful but determined person. In his left hand, an open book is a volume of poems by Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, as a symbol of a subtle spiritual connection with Russian culture and poetry, inner reflection and intelligence. The palette is restrained: rich dark tones, noble gold, deep green and soft light, accentuating the face, emphasize the importance of the figure. The work is framed in a rich, massive frame with embossed and gilt, giving the canvas a solemn finality and a museum-like sound.
Alexander Viktorovich Fomin, a gallery owner and artist, deeply appreciates impressionism and demonstrates his love for this style in stunning paintings. His works reflect the essence of light and color in nature, as well as the emotions and beauty of everyday moments.
The artist was born in Moscow. Alexander Fomin took his first lessons from his older brother. The novice painter was 22 years old when he first picked up a brush. Revolving in a circle of artists and selling paintings by his older brother, Alexander takes up the brush, watching as canvases are born. He studied literally "over his shoulder", closely following his brother's work.
Feeling that he can embody his impressions and ideas on canvas, Alexander makes the first strokes. Hard work and diligence paid off: in 1992, he was invited to an exhibition in West Germany. This was an important event and an incentive to choose the profession of an impressionist painter.
The artist's favorite themes are urban landscapes, retrospectives of old streets of Paris, Moscow and German cities. Today, Alexander's works are in private collections and museums, including in the city of Emmerich (West Germany), as well as in the estate of the Leontiev noblemen (descendants of Generalissimo Suvorov) and other top officials of countries and states.
This work is intended for those who perceive painting not as a decorative element, but as a way to express respect for the figures of the era and create an atmosphere of significance, power and continuity in their space. It is suitable for connoisseurs of images endowed with symbolic depth, those who know how to read subtexts and think big.
