The oil painting "Peonies" is a classic ceremonial still life, executed in the best traditions of the European school of painting. The rich floral arrangement, placed against a dark background, enchants with its solemnity and refined sophistication. Lush peonies, the main characters of the canvas, are framed by a complex symphony of irises, hydrangeas, morning dew on the leaves, as well as relief buds, as if just opened by the light of the morning sun. Each petal is crafted with academic precision, almost sculptural tangibility. A silver vase with floral ornaments casts light reflections on the velvet drapery, gently falling on the table. Gilded cups located in the foreground add grandeur and museum solemnity to the stage, balancing the saturation of the color scheme with precious metal. The painting is framed in a luxurious baguette frame in the color of old gold, with deep relief and floral patterns that emphasize the decorative power of the composition.
Alexander Viktorovich Fomin, a gallery owner and artist, deeply appreciates impressionism and demonstrates his love for this style in stunning paintings. His works reflect the essence of light and color in nature, as well as the emotions and beauty of everyday moments.
The artist was born in Moscow. Alexander Fomin took his first lessons from his older brother. The novice painter was 22 years old when he first picked up a brush. Revolving in a circle of artists and selling paintings by his older brother, Alexander takes up the brush, watching how canvases are born. He studied literally "over his shoulder", closely following his brother's work.
Feeling that he can embody his impressions and ideas on canvas, Alexander makes the first strokes. Hard work and diligence paid off: in 1992, he was invited to an exhibition in West Germany. This was an important event and an incentive to choose the profession of an impressionist painter.
The artist's favorite themes are urban landscapes, retrospectives of old streets of Paris, Moscow and German cities. Today, Alexander's works are in private collections and museums, including in the city of Emmerich (West Germany), as well as in the estate of the Leontiev noblemen (descendants of Generalissimo Suvorov) and other top officials of countries and states.
This still life is intended for the discerning collector who is sensitive to luxury in detail, an aesthete with impeccable taste and striving to surround himself with works that carry not only beauty, but also the imprint of the epoch, the depth of time, the silent music of abundance and peace.
