The oil painting "The Night before Christmas" is a picturesque symphony of rustic silence and festive expectation, executed with filigree warmth and attention to detail. The finest brushstrokes create a whole world: snow-covered huts, paths leading into the distance, and the golden light streaming from the windows of houses is reflected in the crystal ice of the river. The moon suspended over the winter landscape doesn't just illuminate the scene — it adds a mystical charm to it. Rural women with buckets are walking through the snow—covered plain, children are playing and sledding - life in this village flows unhurriedly, harmoniously, filled with comfort and care. A horse carriage, a fluffy snowman, smoke from chimneys — each element is imbued with the mood of a good fairy tale. All this is enclosed in a museum—level frame, covered with gold lettering with an ornament of the ancient school, which completes the image, emphasizing its status and artistic value.
Alexander Viktorovich Fomin, a gallery owner and artist, deeply appreciates impressionism and demonstrates his love for this style in stunning paintings. His works reflect the essence of light and color in nature, as well as the emotions and beauty of everyday moments.
The artist was born in Moscow. Alexander Fomin took his first lessons from his older brother. The novice painter was 22 years old when he first picked up a brush. Revolving in the circle of artists and selling paintings by his older brother, Alexander takes up the brush, watching how canvases are born. He studied literally "over his shoulder", closely following his brother's work.
Feeling that he can embody his impressions and ideas on canvas, Alexander makes the first strokes. Hard work and diligence paid off: in 1992, he was invited to an exhibition in West Germany. This was an important event and an incentive to choose the profession of an impressionist painter.
The artist's favorite themes are urban landscapes, retrospectives of old streets of Paris, Moscow and German cities. Today, Alexander's works are in private collections and museums, including in the city of Emmerich (West Germany), as well as in the estate of the Leontiev noblemen (descendants of Generalissimo Suvorov) and other top officials of countries and states.
This painting is intended for collectors who appreciate narrative paintings with soul and history, for those who seek not only beauty in art, but also human warmth. It will perfectly fit into a home library, fireplace room or executive interior, filling it with the charm of the evenings before Christmas — a time when the world freezes in anticipation of a miracle.
