The basis of the plot of the icon "Holy Trinity" is the biblical story (Gen. 18,1) about the appearance of God to the righteous forefather Abraham in the form of three wanderers: "And the Lord appeared to him at the oak grove of Mamre, when he sat at the entrance to the tent (his), during the heat of the day ..." The Most Holy Trinity is depicted on icons in the form of Angels: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The dogma of the Most Holy Trinity is the basis of Christian doctrine. The Most Holy Trinity is addressed with prayers for the forgiveness of sins.

The Holy Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Trinity (Pentecost) on the 50th day after Easter. Holy Trinity Day is dedicated to commemorating the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles after the Ascension of the Lord.
