Laptev Dmitry Yakovlevich (1701-1767), Russian navigator, Vice Admiral (1762), Arctic explorer, member of the Great Northern Expedition. In 1736, he was sent as the head of the Lena-Kamchatka detachment instead of the deceased Peter Lasinius and saved the remaining nine people.
