The wine set for 4 persons from Chrysostom is a work in which each element bears the features of the imperial style, combining solemnity, grace and symbolism of power. The center of the composition is a faceted decanter with a massive stopper topped with an enameled crown in oriental style. It is surrounded by four goblets with gilded legs decorated with ornate ornaments, colored enamels and inserts of green crystals. All this is placed on a tray with a mosaic ornament, in the center of which is an array of jade framed by four columns with crowning finials. The deep color of the stone and the rich colors of the background evoke associations with an oriental palace or a precious carpet spread out under a wine ritual.

The masters of Chrysostom used the entire arsenal of artistic techniques: metal engraving, gold leaf, hot enamel, carving, polishing, stone inlay. The tray and the legs of the cups are covered with the finest floral motifs made in silver and gold, interspersed with scarlet, green and turquoise — a color palette referring to the grand ducal chambers and ceremonial meals.
