The Lazur Cup from Zlatoust is the epitome of the highest jewelry art, an object for those who are used to having only the exceptional. Made of brass and coated with a multi-layered gold coating, it is decorated with filigree enamel in shades of heavenly azure, jet black and milky colors. In the center of each of the four sides of the bowl, natural lapis lazuli shines — a stone of power, inspiration and peace. The voluminous stem is topped with decorative elements in the form of buds, smoothly turning into a wide base covered with the finest ornaments. Inside the cup is a mirror gilding, decorated with hand-engraved patterns.
The masters of Chrysostom used here the technique of engraving followed by gilding and hot enamel, one of the oldest in the arsenal of Ural applied art. Each element of the pattern was cut by hand, layer by layer applied to the metal in a strict sequence that requires filigree precision and a sense of shape. The enamel was applied hot, in which the pigment is sintered with the base, gaining exceptional color fastness and depth. In combination with lapis lazuli, symbolizing truth and eternity, the product acquires not only aesthetic, but also metaphysical value.
This cup is intended as a gift to a person who appreciates the exquisite shape, historical technique and deep meaning of objects. It can decorate the presidential office, the showcase of a private collection or the altar of a festive feast. It combines dignity, nobility and restrained luxury — qualities inherent in a truly strong personality.
