The exhibit presented in the Stargift collection is the fourth collection of scientific works of the P.P. Kashchenko Psychiatric Hospital for the 50th anniversary (1894-1944), released in a small edition of 1000 copies.
For 50 years, the hospital named after Kashchenko has made a great contribution to the development of psychiatric science and practice. Major psychiatrists of their time worked within its walls: Amenitsky, Brukhanovsky, Gannushkin, Gilyarovsky, Gurevich, Kashchenko, Rodionov, etc. By the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the hospital was a powerful psychiatric medical institution, during the war it carried out extensive medical and expert work on servicing soldiers of the Red Army, war invalids. The results of the research work on the communication of wartime material are reflected in the reports of two scientific conferences of 1942-1944, organized by the hospital together with the Moscow Society of Neuropathologists and Psychiatrists and the Medical Unit of the Western Front.
The collection contains unique articles on military psychiatry, which are based on clinical cases from the period of the Great Patriotic War. Some of the works in the collection are published for the first time.
