The collection includes a fragment of a ship prop used on the set of the 1997 film Titanic.
When shooting the film, director James Cameron tried to portray the model of the ship and its decks as accurately as possible. To do this, the film crew managed to obtain copies of the ship's drawings and diary entries from Thomas Andrews (Titanic's chief designer) from the Harland & Wolff shipbuilding company. The recreated model of the ship was 231 meters, which is 34 meters less than the original.
Much attention was also paid to the interior decor. The director arranged for the BMK-Stoddard company from England, which produced carpets for the real Titanic, to produce exactly the same carpets for the film.
The director insisted on using real crystal chandeliers, leaded windows, real wallpaper and stamping small objects with the White Star Line logo in the film.
