In accordance with the general scheme of industry management, since 1981, there have been 90 associations in Mingeo CCCP, including 3 all—Union ones: production geological, scientific production and production associations (the main link).
The main production unit was expeditions (in 1982 there were 620 of them), conducting geological exploration. 14 research institutes were included in the associations; 10 institutes were subordinate to the republican ministries and departments of geology of the Union republics. The industry was managed according to a two-tier and three-tier system, which made it possible to implement a set of measures for specialization and concentration of work in the main areas in associations, increased the efficiency of using fixed assets, labor, material and financial resources.
