Lapis Lazuli (Lapis Lazuli)
The intense blue lapis lazuli model was originally released in 1927, being a bright and distinctive addition to the already existing range of pens. The purpose of its creation was to regain a share in the then competitive market of colored pens. The Duofold Lapis Lazuli model is named after a dark blue gemstone. To make the handle look like a gemstone product, small blue and white inclusions were added, giving it additional depth and shine. "Lapis" is the Latin word for stone, and "azure" comes from the Arabic word "azul", meaning blue. A design inspired by experimental Duofold models from the 1930s.
By the 1930s, PARKER began experimenting with the Duofold model, combining different color schemes together, resulting in alternating color stripes. These experiments eventually led to the creation of the PARKER Vacumatic model. The Duofold 100 was inspired by experimental pens from the early 1930s, in which several layers of precious resin are joined together, creating a spectacular coloring of the cap and pen body.
