Those whose character is stronger than a stone

Miner's Day is a celebration of people whose profession begins where the world ends. Since 1948, it has been celebrated on the last Sunday of August in recognition of the merits of those who work underground, extracting fuel for cities, factories, heat and traffic. The date is timed to coincide with the launch of the first coal mine in Donbass after the Great Patriotic War, a symbol of the restoration of the country and the indomitable will of the Soviet people.
Mining labor knows no conventions and compromises. This is a challenge that is accepted every day – at depths where human effort collides with the mass of rock, where every second is important, where one cannot rely on chance. There are no spectators in the mine, only a team united by trust and experience. Qualities that can be spoken of softly but with respect are formed here: strength, endurance, honor.
Deep underground, something is born that drives life above. The light in the windows of houses, the work of factories, the rhythm of megacities – all this is based on an inconspicuous, almost heroic work, which is rarely talked about from high stands, but which is known to those who once descended into the mine and returned no longer the same. It is a work devoid of external brilliance, but full of inner dignity.
On this day, we honor people of a rare profession – those who daily overcome the elements and remain faithful to the cause. We have prepared a selection of exclusive gifts especially for you. May your health be strong, your family be a support, and every working day ends with a safe ascent to the surface. May respect and gratitude accompany you not only on holidays, but also on weekdays. And may the light always be on, not only in the face, but also in our hearts.
