Victory without a statute of limitations

The ninth of May is a day carved into the granite of history like a blade into a stone. There is no fuss or falsehood in it – only the truth. The truth about the price of freedom, about resilience forged from pain, and about Victory gained through blood and sweat. This morning does not smile – it looks straight into the eyes; it does not ask for tears – it requires memory.
Time passes, people change around us, but in every look of the veterans there is the same indomitable will, the same training that did not fail either at Kursk or near Berlin. We live in a world built on their ability to go all the way. Victory is not a museum piece. She breathes next to me while a toast is being made to her great-grandfather, who went through the war and defeated Nazism.
This Victory is not about celebration, but about strength. Not about flowers, but about the fighting brotherhood that millions of Soviet people joined. And we, who inherited power through blood, names, and duty, must today be worthy of them–in actions, in choices, and in new strength.
Happy Victory Day – not loud, but internal. Not formally, but by blood. Which always reminds us that strength begins with the Motherland. And what is the true value of living with awareness?: You are always protected by your country. We have prepared a selection of exclusive gifts especially for this holiday.
Let each of us live with understanding: this date marks not only the end of that terrible war, but also the beginning – the beginning of our responsibility for peace.
