Guardians of the borders of the Motherland
There are dates that sound solid, like a salute. May 28 is one of them. On this day, since 1918, the country has been honoring those who are the first to meet the threat on the borders of the country and the last to leave them. It was on this day, by decree of the Council of People's Commissars, that the Border Guard of the RSFSR was established. Since then, this day has entered the calendar as a symbol of indomitable duty, loyalty to the oath and courage, proven not by a word, but by a feat.
A border guard is not just a soldier. This is a man whose service begins where the Russian land ends – this line is conditional for a cartographer, but extremely real for history. In any weather, at any time of the day, he is the first shield, invisible to the outside eye, but impenetrable to the enemy. Behind him is his Homeland, in front of him is silence, in which every shadow can turn into a threat. And it is in this silence that the very power is forged, which cannot be replaced by either parades or speeches.
Today we honor those who chose the path without applause and cameras. Those who take on the ominous silence so that we can have a vibrant world. Among them are veterans who defended the borders during the terrible years, and young fighters who write their names in the new chronicle of service. They have one thing in common: the confidence that the border is not just a line, but a line of dignity and honor, beyond which they do not retreat.
