The first military naval ship built in 1667-1669 in the village of Dedinovo, located on the banks of the Oka River, was the sailboat "Eagle". It was also the first frigate to have state insignia – the coat of arms and the flag of the Moscow state. This was the will of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov, nicknamed the Quietest. The warship was needed to secure the Volga Silk Road and cover merchant caravans in the Khvalyn Sea, as the Caspian was then called. Dutch specialists were invited for the construction.
The image of the eagle as the state emblem of Russia was sewn onto the ship's flags, as well as a double-headed eagle on the stern of the ship. After the construction was completed, the sailboat set off on a journey along the Oka and Volga Rivers to Astrakhan. The voyage took 3.5 months and was very difficult. The ship stayed in Astrakhan for almost ten months. In 1670, the Eagle was captured by Stepan Razin's rebellious Cossacks. The frigate lay dormant in the Kutum Channel for many years, until it fell into complete disrepair and was dismantled in 1680.
The ship has made a huge contribution to the formation of the fleet. This prompted the CLUEV craftsmen to create a unique model of the Eagle frigate. The silver ship is made of about 250 parts. The cables of the sailboat are woven by hand. There is a sculpture of Neptune with a trident on the bow of the ship's model, as a talisman that was supposed to protect the ship from sinking. The images of the eagle and Neptune are covered with 24 carat gold. The work on the ship took more than 6 months of manual labor by professional jewelers.
