The mammoth tusk composition "Pleasant Evening" is a complex multi-figure scene in which the master strives to convey an atmosphere of harmony, joy and serenity. To create the work, a mammoth tusk was used, which had lain in permafrost for thousands of years. The artist combines the techniques of round sculptural carving and thin low relief, so that the space of the composition reveals itself as a full-fledged three-dimensional world filled with life and movement.
In the center of the stage there is a pavilion on the water — the place of a night party. The participants of the evening feast gathered under a roof covered with foliage and flowers. Wooden walkways and small terraces stretch around the pavilion, connecting elegant gazebos. The whole space seems to turn into a miniature water town, where every detail is filled with action.
The plot unfolds on a moonlit night. Turtles and frogs gather together, enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the pure world. Some are sitting at tables with fruits and wine, others are having conversations, some are playing music. A small ensemble is located on the bridge, and nearby dancers create a festive atmosphere to the music. Some characters applaud and cheer on the speakers, while others calmly watch what is happening, enjoying the evening silence.
Lotus ponds spread around the pavilions. The leaves and flowers of the lotus form a picturesque landscape, among which fish swim leisurely. Mandarin ducks and swans glide across the water, symbolizing harmony and family happiness. Crabs move among the leaves, enlivening the space and creating a sense of a natural environment.
The special value of the composition lies in the richness of the details. Each figure, bridge, gazebo and plant are carved with the finest precision. The master creates a whole world where architecture, nature and characters combine into a single scene. The warm shade of mammoth bone enhances the feeling of soft night light, as if the whole scene is illuminated by the moon.
The work is perceived as an image of an ideal world — calm, clean and filled with the joy of communication. "Have a Nice Evening" is not just a decorative composition, but a poetic picture of nightlife, where music, nature and friendly communication combine into a harmonious celebration of the beauty of life.
