Mammoth tusk composition with Cantonese ball "Smooth running" 10 spheres

The work, made from an ancient mammoth tusk, depicts a miniature luxury ship in the shape of a dragon. His proudly raised head and waving colorful flags symbolize a favorable future, easy sailing and a successful return.

The seven-storey building cuts through the waves, and at the top of the composition stands a 10-layer carved ball with dragon motifs. The ship is decorated with pavilions, carved beams and painted buildings with opening doors and windows.

Numerous human figures — each with an individual facial expression — are placed among swaying lamps, hanging bells and waving flags. All the elements combine into a solemn and impressive composition, emphasizing the scale of the idea and the virtuosity of the performance.
