About this product
The chess set was created within six months by a team of 33 employees in Kostroma and Moscow. The set contains 12 types of figures (6 types on each side) in a total of 32 units. The characters are made in the style of the legendary 1938 film directed by Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein “Alexander Nevsky". The images of the heroes are deliberately decided in a complimentary, ceremonial style and do not always accurately reflect the ammunition and clothing of the era, since in a real battle, according to historians, everything was much more modest and pragmatic.
The black figures are Russians. The army of the Novgorod Republic and the Vladimir-Suzdal Principality under the leadership of Alexander Nevsky and Andrei Yaroslavich.
The white figures are Crusaders, the dogs are knights. Livonian Order, Denmark. The commander is Andres von Velven.
