The author of the painting is A. Kanunnikov. The coat of arms was ordered in 1827 for the Pavlovsky Palace, the residence of the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, mother of Emperor Nicholas I. The Empress received the dessert part of the service as a souvenir from her son on her name day on July 22, 1927. The plate, like all the items in the Empress's service, is decorated with a green border with a gilded Empire ornament. The abundance of gilding on the objects at one time determined one of the names of the service – "Golden". The name "Coat of Arms" service was received in the twentieth century for the pattern on the dinner plates.All the restored plates from the "Coat of Arms" set have been released in a limited edition.
